Maple Album legal

Terms and Conditions

Effective date: July 1, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Liana App Studio governing your use of the Maple Album app and website. By creating an account or using Maple Album, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Maple Album. Please also read our Privacy Policy , which is incorporated into these Terms.

1. Who we are

Maple Album is operated by Liana App Studio, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada, owned by Ali Sina Bahadori Kavijani ("we", "us", "our"). You can contact us at legal@maplealbum.app or, for help, at support@maplealbum.app.

2. Who can use Maple Album

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Maple Album with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Maple Album is intended primarily for adults, such as parents and relatives, to privately share family moments. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and devices secure and for all activity under your account.

3. Your content and license

You keep all rights to the photos, videos, and other content you share ("Your Content"). Because your posted photos and videos are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot access them, and we do not claim ownership of them. You grant us only the limited, non-exclusive license needed to host, store, transmit, and display Your Content to you and the members of your Albums so the service can function. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to share it, including any images of other people or children, and that doing so does not violate anyone's rights or any law.

4. Acceptable use and zero tolerance for objectionable content

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You agree that you will not use Maple Album to create, upload, share, or store any content, or engage in any conduct, that:

  • Sexualizes, exploits, endangers, or abuses any child, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
  • Is pornographic or sexually explicit, or contains nudity or other adult sexual content.
  • Is unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, or invasive of another person's privacy.
  • Depicts or promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activity.
  • Contains another person's content or personal information shared without their consent.
  • Infringes intellectual property or other rights, or contains malware or spam.
  • Impersonates another person or misrepresents your identity or affiliation.

Violating this section may result in immediate removal of content, suspension, or permanent termination of your account, and, where appropriate, reporting to law enforcement.

5. Reporting, blocking, and moderation

Maple Album is a private, invite-only service, and content posted to an Album is end-to-end encrypted and visible only to that Album's members, so we cannot proactively scan it. We rely on Album members to keep their spaces safe, and we give you tools to do so:

  • Report objectionable content or members directly in the app. We review reports and act on violations, typically within 24 hours.
  • Remove or block members from your Albums, which revokes their access to content shared afterward.
  • Contact us at support@maplealbum.app for help with abuse or safety issues.

When you report a specific encrypted photo or video, your app shares the decryption key for only that item so we can review it; we use that key solely for the review and discard it afterward. This lets us enforce these Terms without accessing any of your other content. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Albums, invites, and revoked access

Each Album has its own unique invite link. Anyone with the link can request to join, but the Album owner must approve each request before that person gains access. Approved members can view content shared in the Album. If you remove a member, they lose access to content shared afterward, but we cannot retrieve content they already viewed, saved, screenshotted, or cached before losing access. Only approve people you trust.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it, including our use of end-to-end encryption for your posted photos and videos. By using Maple Album, you agree to that policy.

8. Account deletion and termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the service or other users. On termination, your license to use Maple Album ends and your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. App stores

You may obtain Maple Album through an app store or distribution platform (for example, the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store). Your use is also subject to that store's applicable terms, including any end user license agreement it requires. The store provider is not responsible for Maple Album or its content, and, to the extent these Terms conflict with a store's terms for the app, that store's terms govern the conflict. Where a store's terms require it, the store provider and its affiliates are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.

10. Disclaimers

Maple Album is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content will always be available or preserved. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of important photos and videos.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Liana App Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Maple Album. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $100.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Liana App Studio from any claims, damages, and expenses arising out of Your Content, your use of Maple Album, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party rights.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Ontario will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you where you live.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of Maple Album after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
